For the safety of all the users, here are some important reminders.
At the port entrance
- Enter the port at a maximum speed of 5 knots
- All watersports, including swimming, are strictly forbidden in the basin
- Fishing is not permitted
- Dispose of waste oil and batteries in the containers provided for this purpose
- Do not throw any waste (bottles, plastic bags etc) into the sea
- Remember to turn off water taps after use
- Do not light fires on the quays
At sea
Before departure, check:
- The weather
- That all lifejackets are easily and quickly accessible
- The safety equipment on your boat
- That you have the right quantity of fuel according to your journey and your rate of fuel consumption
- That you and others on board are aware of your route and planned sailing programme
- That your engine is properly maintained
- That your electrics and other equipment are in good working order
- Your extinguishers and flares (including their expiry dates) – read the instructions
- The state of your sailing equipment (sails, wheel/tiller etc)
- That your boat is properly loaded
- The ventilation of engine compartments
During your journey
Ensure you are aware of and adhere to maritime regulations and basic safety rules.
