Over 70 different species are unloaded and sold at the auction hall every day, 6 days a week. The fish is either sold at auction in the auction room, at 5.00am or 6.00am, depending on the day, by internet as floating stock before the boat arrives at the quayside, or directly from the producer to the fish wholesaler. Transaction invoicing and collection, and payments of sums owed to the producers, are carried out by the “Halle à Marée” Services.
Eighty companies (fish wholesale traders, fish mongers, salters, foodpackers etc.) are approved as buyers at the “Halle à Marée”.
Statistics for fish sales are published on a monthly basis. They are available at the auction hall (Halle à Marée) or on the website: www.crieeboulogne.com
The Halle à Marée has been computerised since February 2008. Transactions are made through an electronic sale system. The fish is sold by a clock auction system and remotely on floating stock, on-line.
