The cross channel link

Boulogne-sur-Mer / Dover
Dover Marina

The aim of the cross-Channel port of Boulogne-sur-Mer is to accommodate fast ships.
2 stations equipped with connecting walkways allow 110-metre long, 30-metre wide fast ships to be accommodated.

Loading & unloading : The landing facilities used by fast ferries are fitted with a double traffic lane ending in a 20 meter wide pontoon, adjustable from 2 to 6 metres above water level. On arrival, passengers will be able to park outside the terminal for a hassle free visit of Boulogne-sur-Mer.

A fast link: at 86 metres long, the boat that does the crossing, in an actual time of 50 minutes, is one of the second generation of wave-cutting catamarans. It provides 3 to 6 turn-rounds a day, according to the season, with a loading capacity of 800 passengers and 200 vehicles. For the increased comfort of its passengers, capacity is limited to 560. Benefiting from a flexible and reasonable Internet payment system, three categories are offered: “family” class, first class and business class.

The new Cross-Channel Passenger Terminal for 2010

The redevelopment of the Cross-Channel Passenger Terminal, with the creation of “Les Pavillons de la Mer” leisure and commercial facilities: these are the major projects undertaken by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of an urban revitalisation project for the immediate surroundings of the cross-Channel Port.

• An asset for the region:

The development of cross-Channel links is the fruit of the Boulogne-sur-Mer / Côte d’Opale Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s wish to revitalise the commercial activity of its area.

The combined actions of the town and the Boulogne-sur-Mer / Côte d’Opale Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the participation of the shopkeepers, contribute to giving the town-centre a new spirit. Located 200 metres from the town-centre, the port of Boulogne offers exceptional accessibility to all the shops, restaurants and tourist sites
