Fishing port

Harbour installations that are adaptable

Back

In order to improve the docking facilities for vessels, the harbour installations have been completely refurbished over the last years.

3 basins have been completely or partially allocated to fishing vessels:

  • Loubet Basin for ocean going vessels (deep freeze and fresh fish trawlers) and local fishing vessels. It has 1 500 metres wharf and 21 stockades,
  • Napoleon Basin is for the berthing and repair of vessels (530 metres of wharf),
  • Tidal Basin is for small fishing vessels (300 metres of pontoons).

2 ocean going vessels and 30 local fishing trawlers can unload their catch simultaneously and store it in the fish market building, which has a surface of nearly 8 000 square metres, located on 'quai Jean Voisin' in the Loubet Basin.

All the wharfs in the fishing port are equipped with automatic distributors of water and electricity. In the Loubet Basin and its advance port, there are also 4 automatic points for the distribution of fuel.
