- The fresh fish catch is sorted and packaged on board in closed containers filled with ice, in order to keep the temperature to 0° centigrade.
The ocean going fishing trawlers are owned by EURONOR. These
vessels unload in Boulogne-sur-Mer and in Scotland (advance
bases).
The production of local fishing represents more than 70%
of the tonnage which is commercialised in the port. It is most often landed
48 hours following the catch.

Aboard the freezer vessels the fish is disembowelled and filleted as soon as it is caught and then the fish fillets are immediately frozen on board.
